New Treasurer & Secretary Approved for Association
We would like to welcome Randy Green as our newest treasurer of our association. In a 3-0 vote by trustee’s Bruce Kullberg, Gloria Gaskey and Dave Cherry, Mr. Green was approved at the April 7 trustee meeting. Randy served this position last year.
Delaware County Drainage Maintenance Program
The Drainage Maintenance program is a
cooperative effort between the Delaware County Engineer, Delaware Soil & Water Conservation
District, and Delaware County Commissioners. The Drainage Maintenance Program, authorized
under Chapter 6137 of the Ohio Revised Code, is responsible for the upkeep of drainage
improvements within Delaware County. In Delaware County, drainage improvements include
open ditches, subsurface tile mains, surface drains, and subdivision store water
systems. Without this program, it would be the responsibility of individual homeowners
to pay for the repair of our existing drainage system, to include basins(retention
and detention) storm sewers, curb inlets, manholes, open ditches, swales, and floodways.
As you might imagine, the cost to repair these drainage systems could be prohibitive
for most homeowners. Mr. Link passing out literature and answering questions following
his presentation. More information about this program is available at http://www.delawareswcd.org/
FENCING GUIDELINES. If you are planning to build a fence, here's some helpful guidelines
and requirements. Click here
TRASH PICK UP. We've noticed some residence are not getting their trashed picked
up. Upon further investigation,
we found that either these are new neighbors who
haven't contacted Rumpke to sign up for pick up, or haven't paid their bill. It's
your responsibility to contact Rumpke regarding these issues. Placing trash on the
curb without making proper arrangements for disposal is in violation of our Deed
Restriction. If the association has to dispose of your trash,
the homeowner will
be billed accordingly.
WARNING ABOUT OUR PONDS! Please remind your children that the swimming or skating is not allowed in our ponds. Considering the pond water is not clean, and the bottom is soft mud, it could be dangerous and life threatening.
KEEPING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD BEAUTIFUL! Have you noticed trash on our streets, in the
gutters, around the ponds and in neighbor's yards?
Wonder where it comes from? We
have noticed that there are neighbors who don't take into consideration that the
wind will be blowing and cause
papers, boxes and other trash to blow out of containers.
This is especially true of newspapers, milk cartons and light debris! Let start becoming
aware about how we package our trash, using lids and heavier items to keep the lighter
items from blowing out of containers, and into our streets and neighbor's yards.
If everyone just takes a few more minutes to think about it, plus have more consideration
for your neighbors and community, we'll have a beautiful place to live. One resident
proposed we rent a street cleaning machine. This would be expensive to rent, and
do you want your association dues to increase to do what everyone should be doing
themselves. If everyone does their fair share, we can keep litter down. Thank you!

CHILD SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON OUR MINDS. WATCH OUT FOR NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS PLAYING -- Our kids will be riding bikes, skateboarding, rollerblading and playing in the streets. Please drive cautiously and be aware of our little ones. Thank you for your consideration.
Election of trustees for this
year was held on March 30, 2009 at Orange Township Hall.
The
meeting began with each candidate presenting an overview of why they wanted to serve.
Bruce
Kullberg and David Cherry,
trustees from last year, were elected again for this year. Gloria Gaskey, who
has
served as trustee before but took several years off, was also elected. Following
the election, the
meeting continued
with a presentation by Mary Jane Santos, the director of the Delaware County Library.
She presented an overview of
what the library will offer to our community. If you are interested in helping
with
the library levy, please click here (pdf file). Following the library presentation,
the trustees explained the Delaware County Drainage Maintenance Program, and that
they will be canvassing the neighborhood within the next few months to get enough
signatures for the program. The meeting was opened up for questions. We appreciate
those attending and interest in their neighborhood. The next neighborhood meeting
will be announced in our next newsletter and on this web site.
